Beauty Favourites Week – The Best Face Masks

Origins best face maskWow, I am back!! The last few months have been absolutely crazy busy. I won’t say too much but I have so many exciting things going on all will be revealed soon. With so much drama in the world at the moment I want to have a really positive week. So I’m going to share with you my favourites all week long. Today’s post is one of my favourite skincare items.

The Best Face Masks

Face masks are one of my favourite things to do. I always find it so relaxing laying in the bath with candles lit, a bit of smelly bubble bath and a mask on my face. Or even laying down on the couch or bed with your eyes closed thinking about nothing, having me time.

There are so many types of masks and so many different reasons to use masks. For myself I generally always use masks when my skin is feeling congested or I have unwanted pimples. Which lets face it is most days. I also love using masks as a spot treatment just to help remove those unwanted guests. Using a mask as a spot treatment rather then applying to the whole face can be handy with masks that may be too harsh for your skin but you don’t want to waste.

Read on to find out the best face masks, why I love them and what I use them for.

Glam Glow Youth Mud $69 USD

I remember when I first heard Youtubers talking about this mask I thought it was way too much money to pay for a mask. Now I am on my second tub, yes it is expensive but it is so worth the money. Youth Mud has a mud like consistency  like the name suggests. The mud contains leaves, at first I thought I had a faulty mask. But I then discovered they are green tea leaves rather then picking them out I now apply to my face. This mask is suitable to be used weekly. I like to apply to my entire face the day before a special event or occasion. I find it draws out all the impurities and leaves my skin looking radiant and glowing which is what I want for events. Some days I use this mask as a spot treatment, because I know it works well withdrawing the bad stuff from a pimple and helping it to heal.

Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay Mask $12 USD

Firstly this product is freaking huge, so you are really getting every dollars worth. This mask is a powder so you simply mix equal parts with water or apple cider vinegar to make a smooth paste. I have heard that the mask works well with the apple cider vinegar however I am still yet to try it that way.

When you apply the mask to your face you can feel it tingling or pulsating. It is such a crazy feeling but feels amazing on your face and really refreshing. The Clay helps to unblock your glands which leads to acne, drys out whiteheads, blackheads, pimples and other blemishes. When removed your skin feels so soft and smooth. Don’t worry if you skin looks red or has rashes, it is normal. Once rinsed off your skin will feel so soft and smooth.

L’Oreal Pure Clay Mask $13 USD*

This particular range of L’Oreal Pure Mask has three different types, Purify + Mattify, Detoxify + Brighten, and Exfoliate + Smooth.  My personal favourite is the Detoxify + Brighten. I love this mask so much, it sounds kinda gross but I love seeing all the gunk coming out of my skin, this way I know that the mask is working.

This is my most used mask I have. Ever since I received it I use it every week as a mask or a spot treatment. The pure clay absorbs impurities and oils without causing irritations and leaves your skin feeling fresh and clean.

Loreal Best face Mask

Arcona Magic Black Mask $68 USD *

This mask is new to my collection, I received it back in January and it is quickly become a favourite. The formula is quite thick and grainy perfect for exfoliating. When first applied to the skin you will feel the mask warming up. It is quite a strange feeling at first but you soon get used to it. Arcona says to leave it on for 8-20 minutes. Before you rinse it off gently massage with wet fingertips to activate the exfoliation process.  I have sensitive skin so I only leave mine on for about 10 minutes or I can find it quite uncomfortable. Once you have rinsed your skin well, your skin will feel cleaner and look brighter. I really do see a huge difference in my skins texture and appearance this is why I love this mask. You can also use this mask as an exfoliator on its own, simply by adding a dash of water and then massaging your face make sure to rinse well.

Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask $26 USD

My last favourite mask which is also my last step in my skincare routine. This mask smells AHHH mazing, so fruity and fresh. It is an overnight mask but it can make you feel refreshed due to the fruity smell which is not always ideal at night time. I also find my pup trying to lick my face at night because he loves the smell too. The formula is so thick and creamy but when you wake up in the morning your skin will feel so soft and hydrated. An ideal product for those of you with dry skin although I have normal to combination skin and I absolute love it.

Lovely review! If it wasn’t for the fact I’ve just done all of my evening skin care I would definitely be off to put a mask on!! I haven’t tried the majority of these but the Glam Glow one is fab! I’m loving the Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal mask at the moment as my go to 🙂 xx
