Sand And Sky Australian Clay Mask – A 5 Day Review

sand and skyTodays blog post and my first post of the year. Is a review on the Sand And Sky Brilliant Skin Purifying Pink Clay Mask. I am sure you have seen it advertised it seems to be popping up everywhere at the moment and for good reason. The clay mask is a 4 in 1 treatment for your skin, it claims to detoxify, invigorate, refine, and brighten in only 10 minutes. I decided to do something different and review this mask for 5 days. You will see me use as a full mask, and a spot treatment for those pesky unwanted guests.

Lets start with the packaging, a blue pot that comes with a cute little brush for an easy, hygenic , and faster application. That was a huge tick for me, not many masks come with an applicator nowadays. For $69.90 AUD you will get 60grams of product and free delivery worldwide which I think is incredible. The clay mask has the clean, fresh spa smell which I enjoyed. Made in Australia with Australian pink clay and botanicals, and not tested on animals.

Sand And Sky claims, the mask will remove toxins, clear and shrink the pores. I mean that sounds like heaven to me. They also recommend to use unto 2 times a week for dry and sensitive skin and up to 3 times a week for oily skin. My skin is normal to combination so we shall see how it goes for 5 days.

Day One

For the first day I used as a all over mask. I applied with the brush and I noticed it set quite quickly so keep that in mind when applying. Straight away the mask felt cooling and had a tingling sensation. I left the mask on for 10 mins, and rinsed with warm water. I noticed my pores were visibly tighter, skin looked less red and was super smooth. My face felt really clean and refreshed.

Day Two

The second day I used as a full mask again. I had noticed that day had pimples appear overnight around the mouth area. I applied the mask the same way, it stung a little on one of the pimples I had. After 10 minutes I washed off and straight away my skin looked much better. My face was started to have more of a glow.

Day Three

This day I used as a spot treatment. I applied a small amount around mouth, where the previous pimples were. I left on until completely dry which was about 5 minutes. my pimples seemed less red and inflamed which I was extremely happy about.

Day Four

The pimples from the day before had pretty dried out overnight, by now I was super impressed by this mask. I applied a full mask again, and again my pores looked so much better, I didn’t think they could get any less visible. This product is incredible.

Day Five

To end I went back in with a spot treatment over a pimple that appeared over night on my chin and also a few scars. I left on for 5 minutes and then rinsed off.  The pimple was less noticeable.

Overall

I am a huge fan of this mask. My skin looks visibly clearer, brighter, my pores are less noticeable and my skin feels so soft which helps with makeup application. I would personally recommend only using this product 1-2 times a week as it can be quite harsh and I think thats why my skin had a few pimples. I will definitely be incorporating this mask into my weekly skincare routine.

    • I am so pleased, I will definitely continue to use.

  • I’m surprised by how effective it and so quickly! Its great that it doesn’t make you red after using it and isn’t drying on the skin. Your skin looks great!

    • It literally refuses the redness, how crazy is that?! Most masks I use effect my face and leave it bright red

  • The Life of Laura

It sounds like such an effective mask! And great that it doesn’t dry your skin out either, that would be my concern!

  • The mask sounds so good, It is great that it can be used as a spot treatment in between the regular use.

  • This is raved about so so much! I’d definitely be picking it up if it wasn’t so pricey/I didn’t have two drawers full of masks at home – oopsy!
